Join us on 13th December for a hybrid CPD on Providing a Building Investment Fund for Owners Management Companies. The aim of this CPD is to show how an OMC would correctly begin the process to undertake the Building Investment Fund correctly through the various stages from Property and Facility Surveyor to Building Surveyor. Members will gain a better understanding and be able to provide guidance to to the board of directors on the Building Investment Fund Report. This CPD will of great benefit to any SCSI members working in the Property Management sector.
For any members who are planning to attend this event in-person are welcome to arrive at 38 Merrion Square from 12:30pm and the CPD will begin at 1pm sharp.
SPEAKERS
Kevin Hollingsworth BSc (Hons) FSCSI FRICS Cert CII
Kevin set up Omega Surveying Services in 2013 and currently acts as the managing director. Kevin manages the team of surveyors to attend to the company’s commercial, management company and receiver clients. Kevin has provided services to management companies such as BIFs, Reinstatement Valuations, Defect Investigation, Fire Safety Assessments and Project Management of Planned Maintenance and Repair/Refurbishment works.
Kevin has assisted the SCSI in preparing many SCSI Guidance Notes but most notably “Sinking Funds in Apartments – Meeting the Challenge”.
Kevin is the current Vice President of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland. He was also the Chair of the Building Surveying Practice Group through 2012 & 2013 and the Public Affairs and Membership Standing Committee from 2015 – 2023.
Kevin is a registered mediator and an experienced expert witness having given evidence in the high court and commercial court. Kevin has also given evidence to Oireachtas committees on construction issues.
Kevin was on the government appointed expert working group that that produced the report “Defects in Apartments” regarding legacy defect to homes throughout Ireland. Kevin is also an experienced media contributor and has appeared on 6.01 News, Primetime, RTE investigates, Tonight with Vincent Brown and multiple radio shows such as Morning Ireland.
Paul Huberman BSc (Hons) Est. Mgt., BSc A.V.E.A., FSCSI FRICS
Paul incorporated H&H Property Management Consultants in 2010. Paul provides asset management agency to OMCs in Leinster along with consultancy services to OMCs and property investment vehicles all over Ireland. Paul incorporated Property Repair Guys 365 in 2016 and provides construction and maintenance services to estate agents in Dublin, landlords, property investment companies and approved housing bodies.
Paul is a fellow of the SCSI and started participating as a member of committees in the IAVI and IPFMA and with the SCSI thereafter. Paul currently sits on the a number of groups for the SCSI including;
1.Member of the Property and Facilities Management Professional Group June 2012 to present day.
2.Member of the Clúid Housing/AON/SCSI joint working group on Multi-Unit Developments Act 2011 reform since 2021 to present day.
3.Member of the SCSI/Law Society Requisition on Title working group 2021 to present day.
Paul has contributed to Management in Multi-Unit Development SCSI Code of Practice, and the Residential Property Management guide for consumers titled SCSI Chartered Property Managers and Guidance for multiunit developments and residential Owners’ Management Companies during Coronavirus (Covid-19) and FIRE SAFETY IN BUILDINGS Guidelines for Owners Management Companies.
