Brigid Browne MSc BSc MSCSI MRICS MIEI

    Chartered Building Surveyor

Qualifying with a BSc in Building Surveying in 2000 Brigid worked in the private sector in engineering offices until she became a sole trader trading as Fortress Planning in 2004.  In 2007 She became Managing Director of Fortress Consortium Ltd trading as Fortress Planning.

Initially Brigid carried out house purchasing surveys and designs for one-off houses for private national and international clients but a rural based practice has the challenge of staying open when little or no building takes place so, she took the necessary step into the convoluted world of conveyancing to fulfil the requirements of many private clients as well as solicitors offices in the Tipperary, Waterford, Kilkenny, Limerick and Cork area.

In 2014 Brigid took on the roles of Design and Assigned Certifier and expanded architectural and engineering services to include the extension of primary schools and community buildings.

In 2020, from the onset of the pandemic, Brigid was part of the delivery team for Covid emergency expansion works to Croom Hospital, University Hospital Limerick, Nenagh Hospital and Thurles Hospital and is currently involved in emergency works to St James, Dublin and Mercy University Hospital, Cork.

Also in 2020 Brigid took on a more proactive role in the SCSI by joining the Southern Region Committee.  She also has the pleasure of sitting on other SCSI sub-committees.
