This event is a celebration of one year of Surveyors Declare. It is an occasion to share our experiences as a sector in advancing towards a more sustainable built environment. The speakers have significant industry experience between them, and they will present in the context of how their remit has evolved in the light of the challenge to demonstrate sustainable activity within their field.
We will hear the speakers first and then move into break out rooms for more detailed discussion on a couple of themes set out on the evening.

Emer Byrne MSCSI MRICS Lecturer real estate, Valuations and sustainability
Emer Byrne is a chartered valuation surveyor with a degree in science from UCD combined with surveying degree and a Masters in sustainable development from Technological University of Dublin (TU Dublin). She has over 25 years’ experience in the property industry across various sectors including development, valuations, significant infrastructure projects and asset management.
Evelyn Finegan MSCSI MRICS Senior Facilities Manager IPUT
Chartered surveyor with SCSI and RICS, with over 12 years’ experience in property and asset management. Working for IPUT PLC as a Senior Facilities Manager with responsibility for their directly managed office portfolio.
Evelyn is a member of the Surveyors Declare steering group.
Adam Merriman MSCSI MRICS Divisional Director, Bannon
Adam is a Divisional Director in the property management department of Bannon. He has 10 years’ experience in the industry and specialises in the property management, asset management and facilities & sustainability management of commercial real estate.
Adam assists owners, developers, and occupiers with implementing sustainable facilities management systems that reduce operational costs and increase operational efficiencies in asset performance.
Mary Flynn FSCSI FRICS 5D BIM QS DCC
Mary has worked in the AEC industry for over 30 years in Ireland & the UK. Mary joined Dublin City Council Quantity Surveying Division in 2016 having previously come from a private sector and commercial sector background. Mary is co-founder of the Public BIM Group comprising of the major public bodies collaborating on common interests such as BIM, Public Works Contracts, and Digital transformations. Mary sits on the SCSI QS BIM Working Group focusing on the development and use of 5D BIM amongst the Quantity Surveying profession. Mary also sits on the ICMS Working Group and is actively involved as APC Assessor/Chair for the SCSI.
