Due to popular demand, our accounting and finance for surveyors training series returns in Autumn / Winter 2023.
Our third and final workshop in this accounting and finance series, is an intensive half-day in-person workshop, delivered by Caroline Kirrane, which will introduce you to the topic of finance through a case study on Carillion Plc. through the following areas:
- Introduction to basic finance concepts,
- Learning to read and understand a set of financial statements,
- Carillion case study to understand a construction sector failure,
- How to spot issues through the financial statements.
Who should attend?
This workshop is suitable for APC trainees looking to gain experience in the area of accounting and finance or for professional members looking to expand their knowledge and understanding in this core area.
About the trainer
Caroline Kirrane, CFA, MBA has over a decade of experience working in financial markets.
She has an undergraduate degree in European Business and French from Dublin City University. She also holds a first class Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Trinity College Dublin and is a CFA Charter-holder.
After completing her undergraduate degree in France, Caroline began her career working in a hedge fund in Paris. She then returned to Dublin, working in US-based proprietary trading firm Susquehanna. She has held positions in Dexia and FinTech start-up Eagle Alpha. She has also worked as an economist with the Central Bank of Ireland, advising senior policy-makers on financial market developments.
