Next Steps To Membership
Next Steps To Membership
The Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) ensures that candidates are competent and meet the high standards of professionalism required to become an Associate or Chartered member of the Society. These are a mix of technical and professional practice, interpersonal, business and management skills.
There are five steps:
Step 1: Identify Your Route – your route to Membership based on your qualification and your experience.
Step 2: Choose Your Pathway – you identify a sector pathway related to your experience.
Step 3: Check You’re On Track – you and a member of the education review your decisions around steps 1 & 2 and help you prepare for the next steps
Step 4: Appoint a Supervisor and Counsellor – you must appoint a supervisor and counsellor to support and guide you through your application and assessment (certain routes can skip this step)
Step 5: Apply Enrol in the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) process and become a Trainee Member
