Enhance your technical report writing skills with Sonya Meekel in an online workshop on Friday, 6th October. Learn how to improve your technical report writing including how to compile a report, tailoring your language for your audience, data interpretation, concise writing, formal document writing, communication etiquette, report formats, data presentation, and meeting minute compilation.

This workshop is suitable for APC trainees looking to gain experience in the Communication and Negotiating mandatory competency or professional members looking to upskill in this core area.

Completion of this workshop will earn 3.5 CPD hours.

The Technical Report Writing workshop with Sonya Meekel is a half-day workshop online and has been designed to improve your technical report writing skills and knowledge, so that you engage readers, clearly communicate your area of expertise and reduce the time needed to produce technical documents.

What will the course cover?

  • The importance of reports for communicating information,
  • Compiling a report - gathering, analyzing, and presenting data,
  • Language and tailoring for the correct audience,
  • Interpreting and evaluating data,
  • Writing clear and concise sentences,
  • Writing letters or other formal documents,
  • The etiquette of written communication in emails, letters and reports,
  • Common formats for reports,
  • Presentation of figures and data using spreadsheets, graphs and charts,
  • Compiling minutes of meetings.

Speaker:

Sonya Meekel is an industry expert with over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. She is currently a lecturer in TU Dublin and has extensive knowledge and expertise in people management, soft skill development, and health and safety.

CPD Hours:

SCSI member participants who complete the full workshop will have 3.5 CPD hours uploaded to their member record within 10 days of attending the workshop.
