  • This CPD will be hosted by Orla and David Hennessy-Ward and will explore the Restoration of Historic Facades using the S.A.F.E.R. System, designed to remove biological growth without damaging delicate or historic surfaces. Their work has included churches, protected structures, monuments, and significant heritage properties throughout Ireland.

     

    Orla Hennessy-Ward is a co-founder of Hennessy-Ward with 15 + years’ experience in this field. A former nurse, she brings a strong sense of care, responsibility, and attention to detail to the company’s conservation work.

    Orla oversees client communication and project coordination, ensuring that every property is approached with respect and that clients understand both the treatment process and the gradual, natural results that follow.

    Together with her husband David, she is committed to protecting Ireland’s historic buildings, monuments, and architectural features through safe, gentle, and responsible treatment.

     

    David Ward, along with Orla is the other co-founder of Hennessy-Ward. A marine engineer by profession, he brings a practical understanding of materials, structures, and environmental exposure to the care of historic buildings and monuments.

    David carries out Hennessy-Ward’s specialist treatments, using their own S.A.F.E.R. System, designed to remove biological growth without damaging delicate or historic surfaces. He is committed to protecting the character and integrity of every structure, allowing nature and the weather cycle to complete the cleaning process gradually and safely.
