Job Description
Meath County Council is the authority responsible for Local Government in County Meath with its corporate headquarters located at Buvinda House, Navan.
Meath County Council is responsible for the delivery of a wide range of public services in Meath, with a focus on making it the lead county for economic prosperity, social development and environmental protection, with efficient and good value services and a Council representing the people and communities of County Meath in an effective and accountable manner.
The Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified persons who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel for the position of Senior Executive Building Surveyor. Meath County Council wishes to recruit a Senior Executive Building Surveyor to support the expansion and development of the Council’s Planning Department.

This position is a senior position within the Planning Department reporting to the Senior Executive Officer and/or other employee nominated by the Chief Executive.
The key service areas of the Planning Department include:
• Development Management.
• Building Control and Planning Enforcement.
• Forward Planning, Policy and Economic Development.
• Strategic Projects and Regeneration.
The Senior Executive Building Surveyor will have responsibility for building control and planning enforcement functions, as well as providing other related compliance services to the Council.
The Senior Executive Building Surveyor will be required to work closely with the Senior Management Team to deliver a range of services, implement local policy decisions, ensuring statutory compliance with relevant legislative provisions and deliver on strategic corporate objectives.
