Philip Matthews MSCSI MRICS

Chair of the Project Management Professional Group Committee

Gavan Quinlan MSCSI MRICS

Vice-Chair of the Project Management Professional Group Committee

Philip Matthews is the Head of Real Estate for Turner & Townsend in Dublin and is looking forward to fulfilling the role of Chair of the Project Management Professional Group Committee, supported by Gavan Quinlan as Vice Chair. Gavan is an Associate Director at Turner & Townsend. Both are chartered surveyors and bring almost a half-century of combined experience in the construction industry.

Our hopes and goals for the coming year will be to consolidate and expand the Project Management Professional Group, continuing to develop guidance and expertise and acting as the voice of project management for the Society. We will continue to advise and monitor how trends continue into 2022 – the continuing adaptation of the construction industry to life post-pandemic, through an era of rising inflation, supply chain constraints, interest rates and other industry challenges.

We would love to get more members engaged with the Project Management group – both as committee colleagues and as chartered project managers. Members may not realise that dual chartership is an option, which will allow other colleagues, for example chartered quantity surveyors working as project management practitioners, to further enhance their industry standing and status with a chartered project manager title. This will further enhance the excellent advice that the Society provides to the wider construction community
