The City Council provides a wide range of local authority services including housing, planning, development, environmental, roads and traffic, leisure and community services. Many of the services including water, drainage, fire and emergency ambulance are provided on a regional basis for the greater Dublin region. Since January 2014 the Council provides water services under a Service Level Agreement on behalf of Irish Water.

The City Council has a number of regional and area offices as part of its commitment to service delivery and community development. An opportunity now exists in Dublin City Council for the position of Assistant Chief Quantity Surveyor. The Assistant Chief Quantity Surveyor provides advice to the City Council on all quantity surveying matters in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive quantity surveying service. Reporting to the Chief Quantity Surveyor, the Assistant Chief Quantity Surveyor is also required to work effectively with other City Council Departments and external agencies to produce collaborative, cost effective and timely solutions to organisational challenges.

They will proactively manage staff within the Division and will be involved in various capacities with Government Departments, Approved Housing Bodies, and other local authorities.
