The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of projects through both pre-contract and post-contract stages, working directly with clients, architects, engineers and contractors.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing feasibility estimates, cost plans and cost reports
• Measurement and preparation of tender documentation
• Tender analysis, reporting and contractor negotiations
• Preparing interim valuations and payment recommendations
• Assessing and negotiating variations
• Financial reporting and ongoing cost control
• Preparing and agreeing final accounts
• Attending client, design-team and site meetings
• Managing projects and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting the continued development of the practice

Applicants should have:

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or an equivalent recognised qualification
• Approximately five or more years’ relevant professional experience
• Experience within a PQS practice or client-side cost-management role
• Strong pre-contract and post-contract experience
• A sound knowledge of Irish construction contracts and procurement procedures
• Good measurement, cost-reporting and negotiation skills
• Strong Microsoft Excel and general IT skills
• Experience using Cubit, Buildsoft or similar measurement software
• The ability to manage projects independently while contributing to a small professional team
• Chartered status, or progress toward chartership, would be an advantage
• Registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Quantity Surveyor in Ireland
