Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the team responsible for the activation and management of operational commercial (non-residential) property and other support services required.
  • Manage team performance, liaising with the Commercial Property Lead in respect of performance, training and oversight matters.
    Oversight of leasing, activation and management activities of the commercial (non-residential) property elements of transformative projects.
  • Support and influence the design and placemaking of an array of commercial use spaces (non-residential) such as retail, convenience, community, arts, culture, amenity and childcare.
  • Work collaboratively with LDA Property, Delivery, Investment, Planning and Legal Teams to deliver, activate and enhance our spaces and manage associated risks.
  • Provide specialist commercial property and placemaking advice to internal LDA stakeholders.
  • Support colleagues with the delivery of meanwhile uses for assets where appropriate.
  • Oversee the management of all commercial agreements proposed and in operation.
  • Procure services from agreed 3rd party supplier frameworks including advisory, leasing, sales and professional services and manage performance in line with KPIs and metrics.
  • Drive standards and value-for-money service provision delivered by 3rd party suppliers.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of annual commercial budgets.
  • Monitor and report monthly on commercial activation and all associated costs for internal stakeholders and the Commercial Property Lead.
  • Oversee all compliance matters in relation to the occupation of LDA commercial assets.
  • Lead coordination between Asset Management Accounts and Finance Teams to ensure efficient running of operations and control of revenue and costs.
  • Ensure portfolio and external contractors comply with applicable, legislation, regulation, and best practice in the delivery of their services.
  • Additional requirements may apply as the LDAs pipeline and assets evolve.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in commercial property transactional, operations and management environment including 3 plus years managing a team of people.
  • Relevant property qualifications. Post graduate qualification an advantage.
  • Chartered Member of the SCSI.
  • Excellent relationship management skills (both internal and external).
  • Excellent knowledge of the commercial occupancy market, trends and needs.
  • Strong strategic knowledge of landlord & tenant legislation, commercial agreements, property leases/ contracts, licences, and other commercial-related agreements.
  • Knowledge of public procurement a distinct advantage.
  • Must have own car and full and a clean driving license.
