Join us on 23rd of October for a CPD on ICMS – A standard for collaboration in the built environment. This CPD will look at the increased focus on sustainability in the Built Environment has highlighted the importance of the lifecycle of constructed assets. This lifecycle requires inputs from clients and technical professionals alike. The International Cost Management Standard (ICMS) provides a common global reporting framework for cost and carbon throughout the lifecycle of a constructed asset. More importantly ICMS provides a common language around cost and carbon for those involved in all aspects of the built environment. This event will provide a broad overview of ICMS and its importance in all stages of the constructed asset lifecycle for both buildings and civil engineering projects. There will also be a focus on the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive and the EU Level(s) framework for sustainable buildings.
Speakers
Mary Flynn is a Chartered Surveyor with over 30 years’ experience in the industry working in both Ireland and the UK. Mary joined Dublin City Council Quantity Surveyors Division in 2015 having previously worked in the Private Sector. Mary is part of Dublin City Council Corporate Strategic BIM Implementation Working Group. Mary was co-founder of the Public BIM Group comprising of the major public bodies collaborating on common interests such as BIM, Public Works Contracts, Digital transformations and such like. Mary sits on the SCSI QS BIM working Group focusing on the development and use of 5D BIM amongst the Quantity Surveying profession
Charles Mitchell is a Fellow of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). He has in excess of 25 years’ experience in the construction sector as a Quantity Surveyor, lecturer and policy advisor, with a focus on cost and sustainability. Currently Charles is the Senior Quantity Surveying Technical Advisor to the Construction Unit of the Department of Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform.
Dan O’Gorman is a seasoned Engagement Consultant (Construction) at GS1 Ireland, part of the global Barcode Standards Organisation operating in 116 countries. With over 40 years of experience spanning high-tech and construction industries worldwide, Dan is an expert in digitisation and process improvement. His groundbreaking work focuses on creating GS1-compliant, scan-based access to independently validated “Digital Product Passports” (DPPs), including “Environmental Product Declarations” (EPDs).
