  • Join us on Thursday 5th March for our International Women’s Day event from 12 noon followed by light lunch and refreshments.

    This years theme as part of Global International Women’s Day will be #GivetoGain and our speakers on the day will be Therese Coveney, social entrepreneur, advocate and founder of the Together Academy. The Together Academy is a unique college and social enterprise café in Dublin. They aim to provide young adults with Down syndrome specialised certified training, on the job experience, future work placements and a critical social and support network. Their mission is to transform the employment prospects and lives of young adults with Down syndrome in Ireland Climb, Soar, Believe, Achieve.

    Therese will join us and tell us why she set up the college and the benefits and impacts the students in placements are having on companies, improving culture, staff wellbeing and the giving back to society. Our panel will include Emer Byrne, TU Dublin, Fionnuala O’ Buachalla from JLL who have a graduate from the Together Academy employed in JLL and Treasa Fitzgibbon, the Career Activist on the value of mentorship to an organisation and the importance of bridging the soft skills of employees.

    Lily Ellis from Netapp, will moderate the session, we hope you can join us in-person, its a great opportunity to network and have some lunch, we understand this is not always possible and look forward to seeing you online as well!
