Job Description
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Office of Government Procurement (OGP) is responsible for leading the transformation of public procurement across the public sector, for developing the procurement policy framework, and for providing supports to public bodies and suppliers.
It carries out the sourcing of goods and services that assist Irish Public Bodies in the delivery of important public services to and on behalf of citizens.
The OGP delivers a wide variety of sourcing activity through the establishment of national Framework Agreements, delivering both mini competitions and bespoke competitions for goods and services for our customers across the public sector.
Vacancies currently exist for talented and commercially aware individuals who wish to develop a career in procurement with the OGP.
Reporting to the Head of Portfolio, the Category Manager will have a role in delivering on the OGP’s commitment to implement the public procurement reform agenda and to deliver on its remit. They will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of procurement projects and with a wide range of stakeholders across all sectors in the public service, including central government, local government, health, defence and education.
The successful candidate(s) will have:
- Procurement experience at a senior level (minimum of three years within the last five years) in a sourcing/ procurement role
- Practical experience in establishing significant/complex/high value commercial procurement arrangements in a regulated or competitive market
- A proven track record in leading the delivery of procurement results through a structured planned approach including governance, quality assurance and controls in the procurement process
- Strong judgement, problem solving and decision making ability in rapidly evolving environments;
