Job Description
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Dublin is an international capital city and is the economic engine of the region and the State. Dublin City Council seeks to enhance the city’s attractiveness as a place in which to invest, to work, to live and to visit.
The North City Operations Depot (NCOD) is a new, purpose-built campus that will consolidate 16 existing, individual depots into a single, operations centre, providing high-quality facilities for these operations and for the 600 associated staff. This is a major change project for the City Council and is an exciting and new approach to management of operational facilities that will improve and enhance efficiency in the delivery of operational services within the City.
A vacancy now exits with Dublin City Council for the position of Depot Manager – North City Operations Depot. A senior management position within the City Council, the North City Operations Depot (NCOD) Manager will be responsible for the management and effective operation of the NCOD campus.
This will require a clear focus and a professional approach to successful delivery and operation of the NCOD, and its contribution to the strategic objectives of the Council for the delivery of effective public services. Job Requirements
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The successful candidate will:
• Hold a degree (at least level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications) in engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, building surveying or facilities management;
• Have at least eight years satisfactory relevant engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, building surveying or facilities management experience, including a period of not less than three years satisfactory experience in the direction and supervision of facility management contracts/contractors and/or property management;
• Have experience in developing schedules and specifications for Facilities Management contracts and in the practice of public procurement;
• Be capable of dealing efficiently with the range of operations undertaken by a local authority;
• Possess a high standard of technical training;
• Have satisfactory administration and management experience; and
• Have satisfactory knowledge of public service organisation or the ability to acquire such knowledge.
