Job Description
The Development Officer will work as a key member of the Commercial Development team by assisting the New Business Managers and Delivery team in delivering Clúid’s housing development programme. You will provide support to the wider team by taking responsibility for the management of the delivery of identified projects within the existing programme. As a result, you will be responsible for a range of delivery processes such as project administration, funding applications, internal and external approvals and liaising with Property Services for all projects. The role requires significant travel as you will provide support for development activity primarily based in, but not limited to the south of the country. You will visit schemes during construction, close to completion and again on the closing date as well at other times as needed. You will participate in all necessary Commercial Development team meetings and activities. We envisage that this role will operate from our Cork Office however travel to the National Office in Dublin or other regional offices will be required on occasion.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the New Business Managers and Project Managers in the delivery of social housing projects as per our internal development procedures
- Liaise with internal stakeholders such as Property Services, Housing Services, Finance, and Legal to ensure timely delivery of units into management
- Support New Business Managers to develop the initial feasibility of projects
- Manage and deliver feasibility exercises and project appraisals in conjunction with the Design team and submit these to internal and external stakeholders as required
- Prepare internal appraisals for internal decision-making in accordance with the project plans
- Administer the progression of acquisition projects through to handover in conjunction with the New Business Managers
- Organise valuations and surveys as needed
- Obtain information from all stakeholders to complete and submit for various internal and external approval stages
- Prepare submissions for external funding approval and submit them to external parties as required and as per procedures and project plans
- Prepare and submit legal instructions when required and in accordance with project plans
- Work with Legal and Finance teams to prepare and track funding applications and drawdowns
- Keep Delivery Programme Manager appraised of all changes to project schedule
- Maintain all project records as per Clúid’s procedures
- Ensure that Clúid’s policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
- Keep Housing Services and Property Services informed of progress and expected dates for delivery of new homes
- Visit projects specifically nearing completion and snagging as required
- Coordinate the handover of new units to Housing Management
- Attend all meetings pertinent to your role
- Where required assist with organising PR events for the department
- Liaise with Property Services and Housing Management Services during the defects liability period ensuring that defects are dealt with by contractors/consultants
- Ensure that Clúid’s expected level of customer service is maintained throughout the defects period
- Assist in preparing post-project reviews
- Actively manage your personal development plan in consultation with your manager
- Collaborate with colleagues and proactively work to ensure that New Business delivery a quality service to the business
