Duties of the Executive Quantity Surveyor Shall Include:
The Council has a current requirement for an Executive Quantity Surveyor in the Housing Capital Section. Future roles may arise in other Sections during the life of the panel e.g. Special Projects, Facilities Management, Road Design.
- Administer Quantity Surveying Services for Projects from cost estimates at feasibility / project inception stage to reporting on the final account at completion stage of projects, engaging with an internal or external design team as required.
- Draw up pricing documents, preparing bills, cost plans, cost estimates and organising project preliminaries. Procurement, contract administration and management of contract for works and works related services including preparation of formal contract documentation for signing.
- Assessing Consultants and Contractors’ suitability prior to appointment including ensuring the correct insurances are in place.
- Project Management of Capital Projects as required including managing external procured consultant design teams, monitoring project progress, cost controls and contractual matters at team meetings.
- Preparing documentation for submissions to Government Departments for approval.
- Assessment of submissions and negotiation with developers re acceptable costs for Part V, Repair and Lease and other schemes as they arise.
- Drawing up a Risk Analysis for projects.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Executive from time to time.
