Job Responsibilities
The Office of Public Works (OPW) is a government agency, responsible for managing a significant proportion of the State’s owned & leased property (circa 1,800 buildings), in addition to developing new state offices and public buildings.
OPW’s in-house multi-disciplinary technical teams collaborate with project stakeholders to design, procure and deliver a diverse range of new-build and retrofit schemes in buildings of every scale. OPW’s Quantity Surveying (QS) section is a dynamic, commercially/contractually focused advisor to both OPW and external stakeholders. The section’s primary objective is to provide strategic and project-specific advice to both internal and State stakeholders across a diverse range of projects, contributing to schemes at every stage of the Capital Works Management Framework’s (CWMF) development lifespan. The section collaborates with colleagues to deliver quality schemes in a timely cost–effective manner that satisfy clients strategic & operational needs. Reporting to a Quantity Surveyor Grade I, Quantity Surveyors Grade II will undertake a range of duties on design, construction & advisory projects, usually working within multi-disciplinary teams.
