Senior Access Consultant
Job Description
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Senior Access Consultant you will work with clients to solve accessibility issues from strategy to execution in order to deliver their accessibility agenda. You will work with national and global clients across multiple industries, so you will gain tremendous depth of expertise in all aspects of accessibility, Universal Design/Inclusive Design and Disability Inclusive Workplaces.
You will also play a key role in shaping the future of our consultancy services.
Responsibilities:
• Manage a portfolio of clients, which includes leading out on larger and more complex projects (delivery of consultancy and training projects).
• Provide full project management support from planning to implementation, as required
• Deliver training and development programmes to clients –including the design of new programmes as required
• Ensure an excellent client experience and proactively manage issues to satisfactory resolution
• Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges
• Monitor project progress and communicate same as per agreed reporting schedules
• Be involved in the financial management of clients
• Keep up to date with local, national and international accessibility and Universal /Inclusive Design developments, contributing to the development of your own and the team’s technical knowledge
• Support business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
• Support, train and coach colleagues as required[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
Job Requirements
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We require expertise and experience across one or more of the following capabilities:
Accessibility policy development and planning
Disability Inclusive workplaces and EDI
Universal /Inclusive Design (Built Environment, Products and Services, ICT)
Accessible Housing
Learning and Development / Instructional Design
Culture and behavioural change
Disability Awareness & Equality Training
A recognised University Degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Engineering, Architecture, Building Surveying, Occupational Therapy, Human Resources Management etc.
A post-graduate qualification in one of these areas is also desirable
Experience:
• A minimum of 6 years’ work experience with proven track record of delivery in one of the above disciplines
• In-depth knowledge of at least one of the following capabilities: Universal Design and Inclusive Design, Inclusive workplaces, Change Management, Learning and Development / Instructional Design, Diversity and Inclusion, Culture and behavioural change
• Experience of making buildings and services accessible and usable for all
• Experienced trainer and skilled in the design and delivery of training and development programmes
• Relevant experience in the successful execution of multiple consultancy projects involving multiple stakeholder /client groups
• Experience in delivering projects from generation to completion
• Client facing or internal consulting experience
• Multi-stakeholder management experience
• Experience in coaching and mentoring junior team members

• A passion for accessibility and Universal /Inclusive
Design
• Will demonstrate energetic leadership, presence and strong delivery focus
• Well-developed skills in managing clients (internal or external) and forging trusted partnerships
• Strategy and policy development experience combined with an ability to move from big picture to managing relevant detail
• Excellent interpersonal & communications skills including: oral, written presentation and facilitation skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and solutions focused
• Ability to work well within and contribute to the development of a team
