Dublin is an international capital city and is the economic engine of the region and the State. Dublin City Council seeks to enhance the city’s attractiveness as a place in which to invest, to work, to live and to visit. It takes a leading role in shaping the strategic vision for the city.
The City Council has a total annual expenditure (between revenue and capital) of close to €1.6 billion and a workforce of c. 5,600 (FTEs). It provides a broad range of services and infrastructure to both citizens and visitors to Dublin to sustain the life of the city. These services include the provision of housing, planning, development, environmental, roads and traffic, fire and emergency, leisure and community services. Many of these services, including water, drainage, fire and emergency services are provided on a regional basis for the Greater Dublin area. The Council provides water supply and waste water services under a Service Level Agreement on behalf of Irish Water (since 2014). The City Council has a number of Area Offices as part of its commitment to area based service delivery and community development.
A vacancy currently exists in Dublin City Council for the role of Senior Executive Quantity Surveyor.
Job Requirements:
The Senior Executive Quantity Surveyor will manage all aspects of the delivery of a professional, high quality and timely quantity surveying service internally and externally from consultant quantity surveying firms.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a professional qualification in quantity surveying that is prescribed under the Building Control Act 2007, or a qualification in quantity surveying that is equivalent to a qualification so prescribed in Section 29 of the Building Control Act 2007 and;
- Be eligible for registration as a quantity surveyor under the Building Control Act 2007 without requiring further assessment. Any appointment will be subject to registration under the Act;
- Have at least seven years’ satisfactory relevant experience in quantity surveying.
