An opportunity now exists in South Dublin County Council for the position of Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Job Summary
South Dublin County Council is seeking to fill a post of Senior Quantity Surveyor. This post is for a full-time position in the Architectural Services Department, which is responsible for ensuring provision of a high level of Architectural Services consisting of architectural design, conservation, urban design and building procurement and quantity surveying services to all departments of SDCC as may be directed by the County Architect.
The Department has a varied pattern of work with a renewed emphasis on the provision of new social housing in line with government policy. The department also works on public and community buildings in line with the council’s capital delivery programme. Please note that the above list of services is not exhaustive.

Job Requirements
Candidates shall, on the latest date for receipt of completed applications:
(a) hold a professional qualification in Quantity Surveying that is prescribed under the Building Control Act 2007, or a qualification in Quantity Surveying, that is equivalent to a qualification so prescribed in Section 29 of the Building Control Act 2007 and
(b) be eligible for registration as a Quantity Surveyor under the Building Control Act 2007 without requiring further assessment. Any appointment by the employing local authority will be subject to registration under the Act;
(c) have at least eight years’ satisfactory relevant experience in quantity surveying;
(d) possess a high standard of technical training and experience;
(e) possess a high standard of administrative and strategic management experience; and
(f) have satisfactory knowledge of public service organisation or the ability to acquire such knowledge.
