Job Responsibilities

The Department of Justice has overall responsibility for public policy and administration in respect of criminal justice, public safety, civil and family law, national security, immigration and data protection issues.

The Department is also responsible for international protection accommodation for those seeking asylum in Ireland. A key priority under the Government approved Comprehensive Accommodation Strategy is to transition away from the current reliance on the commercial market towards a majority state-owned accommodation model.

This will involve building up the International Protection and Integrations estate property portfolio of permanent and sustainable reception and accommodation centres on State-Owned land.

The Department now has a Senior Quantity Surveyor Grade I vacancy in Dublin within their Estates and Construction Management Unit.

Reporting directly to the Head of Estates and Construction Management, the Senior Quantity Surveyor Grade I will undertake a range of duties in design, construction and advisory projects and will be part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Job Requirements (including qualification & experience)

Qualification at minimum Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications
(NFQ) or NARIC Ireland Foreign Qualifications equivalent in Quantity Surveying
and
(b) Be eligible for inclusion on the register of Quantity Surveyors established in accordance
with Part 4 of the Building Control Act 2007
(Please note: Candidates who are successful in this competition will be required, prior
to appointment, to be registered on the Register of Quantity Surveyors as set out in
Part 4 of the Building Control Act 2007).
