The Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) is the leading professional body for construction, land and property professionals in Ireland and is committed to enhancing, advancing, and enforcing professional standards in the construction, property and land sectors. 

Chartered Surveyors are highly trained and experienced professionals usually specialising in the areas of: Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Project Management, Planning and Development, Land Surveying, Residential and Commercial Property Agency, Valuation and Property and Facilities Management. 

The Education Department oversees the educational requirements of Chartered Surveyors throughout all stages of their career. The Education Department also provides a growing schedule of bespoke corporate training programmes to meet the changing needs of the surveying profession. 

The Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland is seeking an Student & Education Engagement Coordinator with experience, knowledge, and a keen interest in the built environment. The successful applicant for this permanent full-time role will provide an integral role in marketing and promoting the SCSI to prospective students while supporting and influencing education related services to the membership. 

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Education, the Student & Education Engagement Coordinator will engage with current, past, and prospective members to ensure the continued successful growth of the pipeline for SCSI Membership with a particular focus on student and trainee members. 

  • Deliver an effective second level school communication and marketing strategy. 
  • Act as the point of contact for guidance counsellors and second level teachers, prepare and deliver presentations to school promoting surveying as a career to second level students. 
  • Manage all systems for booking school talks and workshops.
  • Develop promotional and awareness raising materials of careers in surveying including apprenticeships and membership routes for all relevant audiences
  • Support the delivery of the 5*S Space, Surveyors and Students programme and future offerings as developed.
  • Develop and manage relationships all relevant external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the internal communication and marketing team to implement effective digital and social media communication strategies to reach the target audience and to ensure related school and membership events and initiatives are effectively promoted, while ensuring a coordinated cross-team approach to member communication, marking and engagement.
  • Represent the SCSI at role related conferences, network and career promotion events including college fairs and open days.
  • Preparation of regular reports for the Deputy Director of Education and Director of Education & CPD on targets achieved in relation to tasks.
  • Support the promotion and administration of SCSI student membership.
  • Work collaboratively to support the implementation of the SCSI Strategy and Roadmap 2027
  • Adopt a collaborative and supportive approach, maintaining up to date professional knowledge and providing advice and assistance to colleagues as required.
  • Any other duties, as required by the Deputy Director of Education and the Director of Education & CPD. 

Experience & Competencies

You will need to be organised and have an ability to schedule day to day tasks during busy periods and operate on a can do basis. You will need to interact well with people and possess a strong customer focus. 

You will operate within the Education Department of the SCSI in a team environment working to achieve the overall educational objectives of the society. 

Suitable candidates will: 

  • Have excellent demonstratable communication skills, written and verbal, IT skills and experience. 
  • Demonstrate excellent planning, organisation, time management, attention to detail, administration skills and a strong knowledge of MS office software. 
  • Have demonstratable digital marketing and content creation experience. 
  • Be organised, self-motivated and show initiative. 
  • Be personable, have an ability to interact well with people and possess a strong customer focus and a willingness to learn. 
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills 
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a professional body, education, or training administration role is desirable. 
  • Maintain a high quality of work while meeting project timeframes. 
  • A full clean driver’s license is desirable. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics. 

Term:

Full Time Position subject to successful completion of 6month probationary

Hours:

Normal hours of work will be Monday – Friday, 9.00am – 5.30 pm. 

You may be required to work outside the specified working day, including evenings and Saturdays.
