Job Responsibilities
The Sustainability Officer will play an important role in supporting the implementation of
Oaklee’s Sustainability Strategy 2025–2028 and Energy Master Plan 2026–2035. The post will
support the Senior Asset Officer to manage and deliver retrofit and energy projects, monitor
performance, coordinate data, and secure funding to meet organisational sustainability
objectives and regulatory requirements.
Programme Delivery:
- Support the Senior Asset Officer to plan, manage, and deliver retrofit and energy upgrade
programmes in line with the Energy Master Plan and annual Business Plan targets. - Coordinate inputs to project briefs, funding applications, and resident engagement
Activities to support programme delivery:
- Integrate energy and sustainability considerations into planned investment programmes
and scheme reviews. - Provide technical and policy input to development projects to align with sustainability
standards, including NZEB and low-carbon technologies.
Reporting and Analytics - Manage organisational energy and sustainability KPIs, including retrofit delivery, BER
coverage, energy procurement savings, emissions reductions, grant and energy credit
drawdown, and resident engagement outcomes. - Develop and maintain dashboards to track performance across retrofit and energy
programmes. - Prepare quarterly performance reports for internal governance forums, including the
Senior Leadership Team and Housing Services Committee. - Coordinate data and content for the annual Sustainability Report and external reporting
requirements. - Support alignment of reporting frameworks with regulatory, funding, and ESG
requirements.
Data and Systems:
- Maintain accurate datasets covering BERs, retrofit works, energy use, carbon outputs,
and funding. - Support the implementation and operation of the Energy Management System to
strengthen analysis and reporting. - Embed energy and sustainability data within asset management systems to inform
investment planning and compliance reporting.
Funding and Engagement - Identify and support applications for relevant funding streams such as SEAI and Housing
Agency programmes:
- Track funding claims to maximise external contributions to retrofit costs.
- Support energy procurement activities to achieve targeted cost savings.
- Contribute to resident engagement initiatives and internal awareness programmes on
energy and sustainability.
Compliance and Governance:
- Monitor relevant legislation, energy performance regulations, and sustainability
standards to support compliance. - Provide accurate reporting to support alignment with AHBRA regulatory requirements
and corporate ESG reporting.
Job Requirements
- Degree (NFQ Level 7–8) in sustainability, energy, environmental science, building
services, or a related discipline. - Experience in energy management, retrofit delivery, or sustainability planning.
- Knowledge of BER/DEAP, NSAI SR 54, SEAI schemes, and Irish energy performance
regulations. - A full driving licence and access to a car are required.
- Strong data management and reporting skills.
- Experience engaging with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Experience within the AHB or social housing sector.
- Familiarity with retrofit funding models and area-based approaches.
- Experience developing dashboards and KPI reports.
- Knowledge of ISO 55000-aligned asset management practices.

- Internal: Senior Asset Officer, Strategic Asset Manager, Property Services,
Development, Finance, Housing, Communications. - External: SEAI, Housing Agency, Local Authorities, consultants, contractors, sector
networks.

Salary: €56,074 – €62,687 (DOE)
Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week
