Barrister – Direct Professional Access
As the SCSI is an Approved Body, full SCSI members can avail of the Bar of Ireland Direct Professional Access Scheme and access a Barrister directly without having to go through an instructing solicitor. Barristers can provide strategic, expert and independent legal counsel vital to your company on a range of complex non-contentious matters. Services accessed under the scheme do not include litigation services (e.g. court proceedings).

GDPR Compliance and Evidence Made Easy: 55% Discount for SCSI members
SCSI have now partnered with ProPolicies www.propolicies.com/scsi to bring you a compliance product and offering specifically tailored to address particular issues that various professional SME’s face in building their GDPR compliance.
ProPolicies contains over 20 core GDPR compliant policies as well as templates for training and breach logs, retention schedules, Data subject request forms. It also contains a GDPR Action plan that you can use to asses and guide your company to compliance.

Why is GDPR Compliance important?
The GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018 mandate that all businesses “shall be responsible for, and be able to demonstrate compliance with” the privacy principles when handling personal data of customers and employees. Our experience shows us that while most companies want to be compliant they find that working towards compliance can be complicated, expensive or unwieldy and therefore have been reluctant to tackle that.
