Balconies and Terraces: Design Compliance

Join us on 14th November for a CPD on balconies and terraces: design compliance. This CPD will go through how to select the most appropriate flooring system for your project and how to identify superior flooring product and systems. This CPD will also provide you with an improved understanding of the UK building regulations relating to balconies and terraces and help you to understand how to integrate planters and furniture into external flooring systems.

Calvin Dalrymple is a Specification Manager & Senior Consultant at RYNO Ltd, helping some of the UK’s leading practices (such as BDP, Zaha Hadid, Foster & Partners) & largest developers with the technical design of fully compliant, non-combustible balconies, terraces & podiums for major new-build, remediation & renovation projects.

Based in RYNO’s London Studio, in Clerkenwell, Calvin delivers RIBA Approved CPD & Workshops that help eliminate risk & futureproof construction to achieve non-combustibility and ensure design & material compliance throughout a building’s lifetime.

Calvin’s has been involved in major, iconic, developments & restoration projects such as 22 Bishopsgate, Olympia London Regeneration, and the Old War Office (Whitehall, London).

His deep knowledge in de-risking projects to meet current & future regulations and legislation, accounting for such considerations as Wind Uplift, Fire Classifications & Testing Methodologies, Health & Safety, Slip Resistance, Structural Loadings etc., is enhanced by his passion for sustainable construction that can support & accelerate our journey to Net-Zero.
