Marcus O’Connor – MFO The Property Professionals

Marcus has over 25 years’ experience in the property industry. He worked in 2 of the big 5 auctioneers for many years before setting up his own general property services provider agency, MFO The Property Professionals in 2008. Its core competencies are Residential & Commercial Valuations, Lettings, Management & Sales. Marcus is also heavily involved with RTB dispute resolution. Marcus is a Fellow of the SCSI & RICS. Marcus is hugely involved with the SCSI and has been for 20 years giving CPDs and was President of the YSCSI for 2 years. Currently Marcus is on the SCSI National Council, Chairperson of the Practice & Policy Committee, Vice-Chair of the Residential Professional Group, the residential representative on the Sustainability Committee and contributes to the Irish Times Property Clinic on a regular occasion.

Seán Corbett, Director of SYS Mortgages, is a highly respected authority in Ireland’s mortgage industry, with over 30 years of experience. Seán has seen it all, from record interest rates to market fluctuations to regulatory changes, guiding clients through the complexities of mortgage approvals in any scenario.

Majella Galvin, a Chartered Estate Agent and RICS Registered Valuer has been working in the property sector for over a decade and has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience of the Cork and West Cork property market throughout the years.

Majella holds a BSc in Real Estate & Valuations from the University College of Estate Management, Reading. She is Vice Chairperson of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (Southern region), a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveys, Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and the Institute of Professional Auctioneers & Valuers.

Colin Smyth has over 25 years experience working in various aspects and sectors of the Irish Property Market, up to December 2020 for a period of 13 years, Colin focused on the formal valuation of both dwellings and sites in all market categories for the purposes of Asset Management, Litigation, Probate, Advisory, Revenue, Banking/Mortgage Applications, Family Law and the HSE Fairdeal Nursing Home Scheme. Prior to this Colin was involved in the sale and negotiation of residential property in many of Dublin’s prime and sought after suburbs.

When required Colin can also attend Court Hearings to give Expert Witness evidence on properties and market conditions. Valuations are conducted within the greater Dublin area and surrounding Counties.

Previously (1999 to 2007) Colin worked within the Residential Sales branch network of Sherry FitzGerald in a number of offices on both the northside and southside of Dublin. Having been Senior Negotiator in the Ranelagh office Colin became Manager of the Drumcondra office before opening and building their Valuations and Professional Services Department.

Colin now works with dVW Smyth which is part of deVere White & Smyth a long established multi discipline family business. All matters both commercial and residential can be advised upon and discussed.
