Government sought the views from stakeholders and the public in relation to the overall level of public spending on capital investment and what types of capital investment should be prioritised? The SCSI key issues paper submitted focussed on the following;
- the need for more action in relation to Sustainability and addressing the decline in biodiversity.
- Dealing with housing: utilise existing voids and vacant stock to tackle current demand and address viability and affordability difficulties by implementing SCSI recommendations from Real Costs of New Apartment / Housing reports.
- Regional balance of investment to across other major urban centres and regional towns.
Our submission is prepared with the consideration of multiple disciplines (professional group committees) within the SCSI and approved by SCSI Council.
