Join us online for a lunchtime CPD on the 2nd May on Artificial Intelligence. This lecture will explain and discuss Artificial Intelligence and how it is used in everyday life. Key concepts such as machine learning, neural networks and deep learning along with their potential applications in business will be explained. Challenges and considerations for businesses will be discussed and case studies of both successful and unsuccessful AI implementations will be described.
Dr Cawley is a full-time lecturer and researcher in Computing at the South East Technological University in Carlow. Prior to this he was a lecturer in Computing at the Institute of Technology Tallaght, Dublin, Ireland, the National College of Ireland, Dublin, Ireland, and research assistant at the University of Limerick. He holds a BSc from University College Dublin, an MBA from Dublin City University, and a PhD in Software Engineering from the University of Limerick. He spent 17 years in the IT industry in both Germany and Ireland, working primarily in software development roles. His last role, within ModusLink, was as Global Software Development & Support Manager. He lectures on the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Computing. He is programme director for the MSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence and an active member of the CompuCORE research group at SETU Carlow.
