About the CPD: The Regulation of Providers of Building Works and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 has amended the BCA by the insertion of new sections 31A and 45A requiring:
- The Registration Body to maintain a system of CPD, the parameters of which are to be determined by the Registration Body
- The Registrant to comply with any CPD system adopted by the Registration Body under the legislation
- A Registrant to be removed from the register for non-compliance with the statutory CPD system
As professionals, we all recognize the importance of CPD. In this fast-changing world, it has never been more important to keep your knowledge up to date.
In response to the new amendments, a statutory CPD system has been adopted by your Registration Body and applies to registered building and quantity surveyors from 01 January 2024.
This CPD will benefit:
A registrant who wants to find out more about CPD and their requirements for CPD under the statutory system in accordance the Building Control Act 2007 (as amended)
A registrant who is being audited
An employer of registrants who wants to find out more about their employees CPD responsibilities under the statutory CPD system

The SCSI is the appointed registration body for the protected titles “Building Surveyor” and “Quantity Surveyor”. Gwen holds the position of Registrar providing strategic leadership, direction and governance of the SCSI’s statutory functions in compliance with the Building Control Act, 2007 (BCA).
