The SCSI is supporting World Green Building Week from the 11th – 15th September with an online series of Sustainability focussed cpd’s. The first event in the series will look at Overview of the EPBD (Energy Performance Building Directive).
The Energy Performance Building Directive (EPBD) is a European Union directive that sets minimum energy performance requirements for buildings. This one hour CPD will provide an overview of the EPBD, its requirements, and how it is implemented in Ireland.
Speakers
Enda McGuane is the current President of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and will be chairing this event.
A former army officer, Enda is a highly experienced senior manager and property professional with over 25 years’ experience in both the private and public sectors. He is a dual status Chartered Surveyor practising in the areas of Planning & Development and Property & Facility Management. As well as being RICS registered Red Book valuer he is an external examiner on Technological University Dublin’s Property and FM Studies degree.
Vince Harney is one of the leading experts in Property Development, and Real Estate Software. He has had over 25 years’ experience of the construction and property markets. He has worked in both Ireland, the UK and Internationally, having worked as a Group Finance Director for a Large European Property Developer based in Prague, a Divisional Finance Director for Bovis Homes plc as well as Senior Commercial Finance Roles at AMEC (now MUSE )Developments.
His specialisms include the Private Rented Sector and Student Accommodation, Property and Business Valuations.
He is a Chartered Valuation Surveyor (MSCSI and MRICS) a Chartered Accountant (Fellow) (FCA) and a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) who has been involved commercially in Property Development for over 20 years.
Vince has his own Consultancy Practise and works closely with RICS to provide valuable programmes for the Membership including work for RICS in the Middle East. He has also presented courses to Property Developers on a wide range of related topics covering Feasibilities, Finance Structures for Property, Residual Land Valuations, Fund Management and International Cross Border Transactions.
Oliver Held has over 20 years experience in both the residential and commercial sides of the property sector. Oliver provides commercially minded technical advice relating to disposals and acquisitions of single and portfolio properties to a broad range of clients based in the US, continental Europe, the UK and in Ireland. Achieving the best result for a landlord or tenant in a dilapidations claim is always relished. Bringing refurbishment and remedial work projects both small and large in scale and value in on budget and programme is a welcome challenge. Oliver has a keen interest in sustainability and the conservation of our historic built environment.
