Join us on 30th May for an online CPD on a Valuer’s Approach to Sustainability. This CPD will be a short workshop on items to be considered in a traditional/ DCF valuation. There will be a review of a hypothetical valuation across practical considerations and also how to weave in sustainability. Speakers for this event will be Emer Byrne, TU Dublin, Sarah Garry, Cushman and Wakefield, Conor Gillett, JLL and Lena Clarke, TU Dublin.

Speaker

Lena Clarke MRICS, MSCSI, MSc., BSc., lectures full time with TU Dublin in the School of Surveying and Construction Innovation, specialising in Valuations (Real Estate).  She is an active member of the SCSI, a member of the SCSI Sustainability Working Group and has over 25 years professional experience.  Prior to joining TU Dublin, Lena was a Divisional Director in Investments at Lisney.

Conor Gillett MSCSI MRICS, Director, Value and Risk Advisory, JLL

Conor is a Director in JLL’s Value and Risk Advisory Department and specialises in valuations for secured lending and fund valuations.

Sarah Garry  MSCSI MRICS LLB, Cushman and Wakefield. 

Sarah joined the  C&W Valuation & Advisory Team as Associate Director in 2023. She brings with her over 20 years property experience in the areas of commercial agency, asset management, valuation and advisory.

She is responsible for overseeing many large fund valuations regularly, completing valuations for secured lending and providing strategic advice to clients, with a particular focus on sustainability and ESG. Shei s currently the Chair of the ‘Surveyor Declare’ working group within the Society of Chartered Surveyors.

Emer Byrne

A graduate of TU Dublin and UCD Emer Byrne is a Chartered Valuation Surveyor with over 30 years’ experience in the professional and education sectors. Emer is a lecturer in the School of Surveying and Construction Innovation at TU Dublin where she lectures in Real Estate, Valuations and Sustainability. She has brought an innovative approach to teaching industry relevant modules through collaboration with colleagues in the profession.

In her previous role as divisional director in Lisney, Emer was responsible for valuations and professional services. Emer is on the board of the Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA) for the last five years and continues in this role until 2027. For the last three years Emer has been a judge on the Irish Construction Excellence (ICE) Awards and has enjoyed continued professional exposure to some of the finest construction projects in the country.

Within the SCSI she has served on many committees including her current role as Chair of the Sustainability Working Group. She has contributed to the Surveyors Journal, Sustainability Newsletter, chaired many CPDs and is a on the judging panel for the SCSI excellence awards. Previous roles include Chair of the PRS Valuations working group and also outgoing Chair of Surveyors Declare. She has been an active member of the Valuations PG and drove the delivery of the following member guides: Sustainability considerations for Valuers (2022); Valuation of residential Investments (2021).
