Mark Prendergast, Founder and Managing Director of Safe Drone Academy, brings unparalleled expertise and extensive experience from both the unmanned and manned aviation sectors. With a distinguished 25-year career operating a wide range of manned and unmanned aircraft in both commercial and military capacities, Mark has extensive experience in flight instruction and assessment. He combines practical, hands-on training methods with deep industry regulatory and safety knowledge. Alongside his role as an Airbus Captain for Aer Lingus, Mark serves as Head of Training at Safe Drone Academy and represents Ireland on an EASA Task Force revaluating remote pilot training and certification requirements across the EU. Under his leadership, Safe Drone Academy’s training and testing programs are recognized for their excellence and effectiveness, setting industry standards in drone and aviation education.
