Peter McCarthy Bio
Peter has over 29 years of practical experience in the civil engineering and building construction industry and holds dual expertise in Quantity Surveying and Construction Law.
Employed by some of the larger and more established firms as a Commercial Manager and later as a Commercial Director, Peter is now the founder and owner of Conlex Consulting, which supports clients with pre-contract review, post-contract support, preparation and negotiation of claims, dispute avoidance and dispute resolution.
Peter has in-depth knowledge of all the standard forms of construction contracts and methods of measurement, including JCT Contracts, FIDIC, NEC and Public Works Suite of Contracts. He is a fellow member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors of Ireland and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is an approved Adjudicator on the SCSI Adjudication panel.
